Be part of the Children Village, and share your life with the kids at a home to the minority children in Sangkhlaburi.

Day 1
Arrive Bangkok airport, Transfer to hotel accommodation. Overnight at Royal hotel or SD Avenue Hotel

Day 2
Transfer to the Thai Language School for morning class of basic Thai language learning. After the class time to have experience to get use to Thai culture by visiting various sites of Bangkok. The guide will only be as an escort to encourage clients to interact with Bangkokers as much as possible. Sample of places to visit are Narai Phand Handicrafts Center, Siam Square & MBK Complex – a popular place for Thai teens, and the famous auspicious Erawan Shrine. Overnight.

Day 3
A trip to historic Kanchanaburi with visits to the Allied War Cemetery , war museum and the bridge over the River Kwai. Take a train journey on the Death Railway over the bridges and a spectacular wooden viaduct built by the POWS. After lunch continue to Moobandek, or the Children Village in Ladya . Upon arrival the teachers will give an orientation to know about their project and the area. Overnight at the sleeping compartment of the foundation’s guest house.

Days 4-12
The village is one of the voluntary projects at the Foundation for Children. The foundation has long established in Thailand to protect the children’s right and take care of slum and neglected children. The foundation is home to the children who are suffered by family or social problems. They receive vocational training, learn about farming and join the classes including language learning. Now there are about 100 -120 children with various ages. Programs of each day normally start with early morning routine check for vegetable plantation of the village. After breakfast the volunteer should prepare for a teaching session at school to local students (primary school level). The group should teach the students something about the geography, history, society, work, family of their home country. It is a very good idea to take some teaching materials such as pictures, poster, sport equipment, etc. from their country to show to the kids. They might leave those teaching materials to the library of the village, if wish. After lunch the volunteer will be split to small groups, according to their skills to join one of the village’s development projects (cleaning the school, vegetable farming, planting, vocational workshops, etc.) or look after the small kids (Pratom 1-3) who have no class….play games, etc. The vocational workshops which have lots of variations such as carpentry, agriculture, construction, computer, cooking, handicrafts activities such as batik, sewing, weaving, etc. Overnight at the sleeping compartment of the foundation’s guest house. Day 13 After farewell to all the kids and teachers of the Children Village, transfer to Sangkhla Buri. Short stop en route at Hell Fire Pass , Hin Tad Hotspring, and Three Pagoda Pass . Arrive at Ban Thorfun Punrak , orientation and overnight at the guest house of the project.

Days 14-22
There are a few places that run the community activities to help the ethnic women and children in Sangkhala Buri area. The program takes you to the most outstanding project at Ban Thorfun Punrak , the House to Share Dream and Love runs by a Thai NGO couple. It is a home to a number of children from various places of the country that facing different kinds of problems. Learn how to dye clothes with natural colours with local Karen women working in the project. As a simple way to support the children project, a variety of naturally colour-dyed clothes, including ready-made ones, are available at reasonable prices. Live with the children and overnight at the welcome-house of this small community.

Day 23
After farewell to all the kids and the staff, drive to Bangkok (arrival time is in the late afternoon). Overnight at Royal hotel or SD avenue Day 24 Morning joint transfer to Ban Phe (arrival time approximately 12:30-13:00 hrs.) and transfer by boat to the hotel. The crossing takes approximately 45-60 minutes. Remainder of day at leisure. Overnight at Voungduen Resort or its equivalents.

Days 25-28
Days at leisure Day 29 Morning joint transfer to Ban Phe for the return minivan to Bangkok. The minivan leaves Ban Phe approximately 14:00 hrs. and arrives Bangkok approximately 17:00-18:00 hrs. Overnight at Royal hotel or SD avenue

Day 30
Departure transfer to airport. Termination of the services.

Remarks

Unlike the attraction sites for tourists, the activities of each volunteer and community services sites may be very much vary, and they cannot guarantee exactly what it will be during the voluntary work. Therefore we reserve right to adjust the program or even change the place, even after we have advised a confirmation due to the above reason which is unforeseen. However the same concept will be well maintained.
